Junior Software Engineer

Salary: RM 4,000 – RM 5,000 per month

About the role

Start your career building the backend systems behind real mobile subscription and payment services. You will learn and be guided by experienced engineers. Fresh graduates and candidates with 1 to 2 years of experience are welcome.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, test, and enhance backend systems, APIs, databases, and integrations to support business and product requirements.

• Support cloud-based applications and infrastructure on AWS, ensuring system reliability, scalability, and performance.

• Collaborate with Frontend, Business Development, Operations, and other stakeholders on system development and third-party integrations.

• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, bugs, and performance problems while supporting continuous product improvement.

• Develop and deploy new features, automation, and internal tools to improve operational efficiency and business processes.

• Leverage AI-assisted development tools and AI technologies to improve coding, troubleshooting, testing, documentation, system monitoring, and overall development efficiency.

• Explore opportunities to integrate AI capabilities and automation into existing systems, products, and development workflows.

• Maintain good coding standards, technical documentation, and proper knowledge handover.

• Continuously learn and adapt to evolving technologies, AI capabilities, development practices, and business requirements.

About you

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or a related field preferred

• Experience with Python and MySQL

• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)

• Understanding of REST APIs, JSON and Git

• Ability to use AI tools for coding, debugging and testing, and check the result

• Laravel (PHP) is a plus
