Report to: Technical Art Director
Responsibilities
- You will drive asset development by defining how EA's internal game engines enable high-quality content production through pipelines and toolchains
- You will lead the development of in-game visual features and lead platform-specific performance management and algorithm optimization
- You will collaborate closely with Technical Directors and Art Directors to provide tools and best-practice guidance to support project vision, and take ownership of real-time performance evaluation
- You will define and own content creation standards, including data structures, naming conventions, and technical specifications
- You will work with engineers, artists, and designers to define performance management and asset validation metrics and workflows, ensuring projects meet established performance targets
- You will resolve complex technical issues and systematically analyze and optimize content to achieve required performance and visual quality across a wide range of mobile devices
- You will lead content reviews across all stages of development, provide clear technical direction and feedback to artists, deliver first-line technical support, and ensure effective issue escalation and resolution
- You will maintain, extend, and evolve the engine and art toolchain based on project requirements
- You will provide technical workflow leadership for artists and content creators, own shared script libraries and toolchain codebases, and participate in code reviews to ensure technical quality
- You will work in a highly collaborative and creative environment
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience
- Shipped at least one title using Unreal Engine or Unity
- Bachelor's degree or above in a related field
- Good at working with artists, engineers, and management from different professional backgrounds
- Experience with 3D art pipelines and tools (Maya / Blender / Substance), including modeling, level building, and node-based systems (materials, Blueprints)
- Familiar with Perforce or Git
- Experience in technical debugging and performance optimization (e.g. Render Doc)
- Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, C#, or Lua
- HLSL / GLSL shader skills and solid graphics fundamentals
- Experience with C++ development and GPU programming
