Summary
Internship at a Microsoft-focused IT consulting firm in Petaling Jaya: performing L1 incident response, baseline deployments, monitoring, QA/testing, and customer coordination for managed services, while supporting senior engineers and architects with documentation. Preferred exposure includes Azure, M365, Active Directory, networking, Data & AI, and security.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Consulting & Managed Services
1. Technical Implementation & Support
- Execute baseline configurations and deployments following SOPs.
- Perform L1 incident response, diagnostics, log collection and escalate as required.
- Proactive conduct daily monitoring, health checks and preventive maintenance.
- Support Managed Services operational tasks including checklists, service logs and patch validation.
- Execute QA & testing tasks following standard checklists.
- Maintain accurate issue logs and report recurrent problems to seniors
2. Customer Coordination & Communication
- Provide customer updates under supervision and log requirements accurately.
- Participate in customer calls for technical updates and requirement clarification.
- Prepare customer presentations, technical reports and troubleshooting summaries
3. Collaboration with Senior Engineers, Specialists & Architects
- Work with CDM/SDM to align on operational expectations.
- Support Senior Specialists in requirement validation and technical clarifications.
- Support Solution Architects by preparing documentation, diagrams, and deployment artifacts.
- Participate in internal review sessions and learn architectural best practices
4. Operational Tasks & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain deployment notes, KBs, runbooks and SOPs.
- Assist in updating knowledge bases and technical guides.
- Identify improvements in SOPs and operational processes.
- Participate in continuous learning with partners, vendors and Microsoft.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science/information technology or fresh graduates.
- Experience in an enterprise or SI environment (Microsoft preferred).
- Exposure to Azure, M365, AD, networking, Data & AI or security preferred.
- Microsoft certifications preferred (Azure, M365, Security, Data & AI).
- Strong willingness to learn, communicate and teamwork skills
- Customer-oriented mindset, good troubleshooting & problem-solving foundation
- Ability to follow SOPs and structured processes
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with supervision
- Self-directed with the ability to drive change in unstructured environments.
